Florida Across the State Challenge

**Please note that this is not a real race and is being use for demonstration purposes only.**

1. Can I run my individual race without a support crew?
   1. No.  Each runner MUST have their own support crew; NO CREW SHARING, although possible exceptions will be considered for two runners who can demonstrate that they have previously shared a crew during a race AND who have obtained specific approval of the exception from the Race Director. 
2. What’s the best team race strategy?
   1. Team members do not have to run the same number of miles nor the same number of legs.  The team decides its own strategy and can even make changes on the fly.  Over the years, most teams have found that their finishing times are better, and recovery is faster if each teammate runs multiple short legs vs. two or three long ones.  So, most teams will use each of the permitted exchange locations to change runners, and will decide in advance which mate will run the longest legs.
3. Are there bathrooms and stores along the race route?
   1. Yes.  And race-installed portable toilets will be located at strategic locations.  Route 44 includes commercial facilities like gas stations, convenience stores and the like at many points along its length, but there are long stretches where there is no commercial development. For bathrooms, if using a business' facilities, show support by buying something if at all possible.  If told "No", please be polite and COVID-19 remains a concern for many.  
4. Is transportation available back to the race starting point?
   1. No.  That's what your crew--or teammates--are for.
